The

Turn off your ETI-2. Under the rubber cover on the back of the
ETI-2 is a small opening labeled "Reset." Insert the tip of
a paper clip or similar-sized object into the opening and hold it down
for a few seconds. This should allow your unit to turn on and function
as usual.

The
icons and menus on my screen don't seem to be as sensitive as they once
were. What can I do?
If
the icons don't seem as sensitive, a realignment of the touch screen
may be needed. To realign the touch screen, turn off your ETI-2, hold down the
Page Back button, then turn on your device. If the eBookshelf does not
appear on the screen, press the Bookshelf icon. Then press the eBook
icon and tap Info on the dropdown menu. Tap More and in the next
dropdown menu, tap Align. A large X will appear in the upper left corner of the screen. Follow the instructions to press on the center
of the X until it disappears and the next letter X appears on the screen.
You will be asked to tap the center of the X in several places around
the screen until the realignment is completed. Alternatively, after
turning on your ETI-2, you can tap the image of the bookshelf at the
top of the eBookshelf screen and then tap Align to complete the process.

You may have received this message because your modem setting was not
correct for your current location. To check your modem setting, turn
on your ETI-2 and press the Bookshelf icon. Tap Settings on the
eBookshelf, then tap Phone Connection. Be sure the dialing prefix is
correct, then tap Go to Bookstore (at the bottom of the page). If you are still unable to connect,

I
connected to the eBook Network and a feature update alert appeared on the
screen of my ETI-2. Do I need to let it update at this time?
This alert gives you the option of updating now or later. It is
preferable to update when you receive the alert to ensure continued
access to the eBook Network and to take advantage of new and improved features.
If you decide to tap Cancel, the update alert appears again in 24 hours
and continues to appear until you update the software.

When I try to use the USB connection on my ETI-2, the device tries to use the internal modem. What can I do?
If your ETI-2 tries to use the internal dial-up modem when you want to use the USB connection, turn off your device, then turn it on, and try again to establish a USB connection. If your device still tries to use the dial-up modem, then reinstall the eBook USB Driver on your computer.
